  Nenets
language - one of the Samoyedic languages.
Spoken in the far North-East of Europe and North-West of Asia from Kola
Peninsula to River Yenisei. The number of the Nenets in Russia is 34,2
thousand. 77,7 % of them regard Nenets as their mother tongue, 17,6% Russian.
Main dialects: Tundra and Forest Nenets.
The Nenets written language was created in 1932 on the basis of the
Latin script. In 1937 it was switched into Cyrillic. The literary language
is based on the Tundra dialect.
