Ingush language - one of the Caucasian languages (Nakh group). Spoken in the Republic of Ingushetia. The number of the Ingush in Russia is 215,1 thousand. 98,2 % of them regard Ingush as their mother tongue, 1,6 % Russian.

The Ingush literary language was created after the October revolution, first on the basis of the Arab, after 1923 Latin and since 1938 Cyrillic script.
